Winter Riding Tips
Although we haven't seen any snow flurries yet, it is getting mighty cold out here at The Lesson Barn! We are doing all that we can to prepare the barn and our lesson horses for the cold weather, but here are a few tips for you!
Places to Shop for Winter Riding Apparel:
Double up on your socks! There is nothing worse than jumping down and feeling your numb toes!
Try adding a pair of leggings underneath your regular jods, or opt for a pair of insulated riding jodphurs!
Hot Hands are absolutely wonderful to keep in your pockets or tucked into your gloves while you are out at the barn!
Gloves are a great way to keep your fingers warm during a lesson! Please make sure that any gloves are proper riding gloves, NOT mittens or snow gloves. We want to make sure they always have enough grip so that our reins aren't slipping!
Please continue to bring a water bottle to your lesson! Just because it's cold doesn't mean we don't have to stay hydrated!
Layers are your friend! Layering up our warm clothes allows us to strip off a layer if we are working extra hard during our lesson!
Our Lesson Barn sweatshirts make great layering pieces! Get yours today!
